My name is Mike and this website is dedicated to the build of a street-able time attack SW20 MR2.  I take pride in getting out into the garage and turning a wrench.  I like to learn as I go, which is almost always the hard way.

I will also document the PNW car scene as I see it, track events I attend, cool cars I come across, and really anything that peaks my interests.

My goals:

- Build a potent track car, capable of pacing with much newer and faster cars.

- Become a better driver.  I'm still new to track time, and hope to become a better pilot with more laps.

- Learn fabrication/tuning skills, from mechanical work, to bodywork and painting, to fabrication and welding.

- Become a better photographer and writer, document the build for your entertainment, likely at my expense.

So far four vendors have jumped on board to help me out with this build.  Check them out, I wouldn't use their products if I didn't believe in them.

 - Wilhelm Race Works - Alex builds awesome track ready components for the SW20 chassis.  From suspension components to brake kits, if he sees a need not being met for tracking our cars, he builds his own parts.  With great results.

- RacerX Fabrication - Plainly put, they build really high quality engine and suspension compenents for the SW20 chassis.  Made in America, they stand behind their products, and love getting feedback.

- Camposites - These cars are old.  A lot of the cool aero parts are no longer being built.  Campos fabricates legitimate replicas of those parts and will even modify them to fit better than the originals.

- Rat2 Motorsports - Ian and Shawn know their stuff.  They provide all sorts of MR2 related goodies, from basic maintenance items to full on motor builds and swaps.  They have lots of products in stock, ship quickly, and offer great pricing.

While this page is dedicated to a new SW20 build, you can check the first MR2 I built here.

That same 1991 SW20 was also featured on Petrolicious.
